The IEP Meeting Is Coming. Stop Walking In Empty-Handed.
Walk In Ready is for parents who want a little assistance but are not ready to hire a full-time advocate. I am an advocate, and I help you look at the meeting like one. I read the district's own paperwork and lay out the questions and concerns you should raise, in your voice, with the district's words as the cite. I do not sit in this meeting with you. You walk in with the ask, the flags, and a line you will not cross.

What Walk In Ready contains
Four documents. You pay, then you upload the records. I use the Findings at a Glance format, developed over more than twenty years of special education practice as a teacher, a campus leader, and an advocate. This is not a chatbot summary. It is a read of the district's own file, in the district's own words, so you can raise the right questions and concerns in the room.

Findings at a Glance
One page you can literally hand across the table. I pull your child's present levels and flag what matches the data, what contradicts it, and what is missing. I write three asks as ready-made IEP sentences, not as wishes. I mark what you can sign, what needs correction, and what needs to come back as a Prior Written Notice. This page keeps the team from saying, "We did not know what you wanted."

The deeper read stays in your bag. I cite the page or section in the district's own file for every flag, so if someone says, "That is not what the evaluation says," you can turn to it. If you sent prior years, I show patterns: services that dropped off, goals that repeat without mastery, evaluations that never get followed. This is your evidence if a point gets challenged.

A script for the meeting itself. How you open in three sentences. The order in which you make the asks. The exact response for every no: ACCEPT, PWN IT, or DEFER. There is no fourth option invented under pressure. The guide keeps you from nodding along just to be polite, and it keeps a hard no from turning into a maybe.

Closing Card
One page for when the meeting is almost over. The frame, the ledger, and the closing line you read out loud. It makes sure a soft "we will look into that" does not become "that is fine," and that any yes is written into the document before anyone leaves the room.

If the intake is an evaluation, we add an eligibility page. Recap email and audit happen after the meeting. They are not in this packet. Notes we use for leverage stay internal.
How it helps in the room
You open, they do not.
Three sentences in the first minute: what you want to leave with, how many items are coming, and that you are here to work. Meetings without a frame get framed by the district.
Every ask has a citation.
Each ask is a sentence for the document, why it matters, the page in their file, a fallback, and what you will say if they refuse. An ask without a citation is an opinion.
A no still produces a record.
PWN IT costs nothing socially. It produces a dated notice of what they refused and what they relied on. The job is not to win every ask. It is to stop walking away empty.
State note: We use the state you enter on intake to set dates. For example, if you are in Texas, the packet uses ARD language, including 5-day notice and the 10-day recess.

Who this is for
An ARD or IEP is on the calendar, or you just got the notice. You want a leg up, but you are not looking to hire a full-time advocate for this meeting. You can run it yourself if the file has already been read like an advocate would read it.
- If you need someone in the room speaking for you, that is advocacy, not this packet.
- If a suspension or MDR is already set, this packet is not that job. Walk In Ready is the file read for an IEP or ARD. A manifestation review is a different meeting.
