Walk In Ready

Walk In Ready: Walk In With the Ask, Not the Panic

I am an advocate. I work on your family's behalf. Walk In Ready is the prep packet for parents who have a meeting coming. I do not sit in this meeting with you. You walk in with the ask, the flags, and a line you will not cross.

This is not legal representation. I am not a lawyer.

Not ChatGPT. Not a chatbot.State-specific from intakeFindings at a Glance format

What Walk In Ready contains

Four documents. You pay, then you upload the records. We use the Findings at a Glance format, developed and procured over more than twenty years of special education practice as a teacher, a campus leader, and an advocate. This is not ChatGPT. It is a read of the district's own file, in the district's own words, so you can use it in the room.

ON THE TABLE

Findings at a Glance

One page you can hand across. Present levels flagged against the data. Three asks written as sentences that can go in the IEP, not as wishes. What to sign. What not to sign.

YOU KEEP THIS

Full review PDF

The long read of the file, with page cites. Patterns across years if you sent them. This stays in your bag. It does not go across the table.

IN THE ROOM

Meeting Guide

How you open, the order of the asks, and the line for each no, decided before you sit down: ACCEPT, PWN IT, or DEFER. There is no fourth option in the moment.

LAST FIVE MINUTES

Closing Card

One page for the close. The frame, the ledger, the closing line. So a soft no does not become "that's fine," and a yes gets written down.

Documents returned in 1 to 2 hours

After the required files are in

You get the four documents about 1 to 2 hours after you upload.

If the intake is an evaluation, we add an eligibility page. Recap email and audit happen after the meeting. They are not in this packet. Notes we use for leverage stay internal.

How it helps in the room

You open, they do not.

Three sentences in the first minute: what you want to leave with, how many items are coming, and that you are here to work. Meetings without a frame get framed by the district.

Every ask has a cite.

Each ask is a sentence for the document, why it matters, the page in their file, a fallback, and what you will say if they refuse. An ask without a cite is an opinion.

A no still produces a record.

PWN IT costs nothing socially. It produces a dated notice of what they refused and what they relied on. The job is not to win every ask. It is to stop walking away empty.

State note: We use the state you enter on intake. If you are in Texas, the packet uses ARD language, including 5-day notice and the 10-day recess. If you are not, we do not paste Texas onto your meeting.

What you send

We do not build from a summary. We read the district documents. After you pay, you upload on a private page. Do not email records to staff@theiepcoach.com.

Required

  • full current IEP (not just the goals page)
  • most recent FIE, FIIE, or evaluation
  • last two progress reports

Send if you have them

  • meeting notice

  • prior IEP
  • behavior plan, discipline write-ups, emails about services not delivered

Two ways to buy

Same documents either way. The add-on is a walkthrough of those documents with me, not extra files. No clock on that.

Who this is for

An ARD or IEP is on the calendar, or you just got the notice. You can run the meeting if the file has already been read. You do not need me in the chair for this one.

  • If you need someone in the room speaking for you, that is advocacy, not this packet.
  • If a suspension or MDR is already set. This packet is not that job. We have a separate emergency package for manifestation reviews. Tell us the date on intake and we will point you to the right offer.
